Responsibilities:

  • Perform research, data analysis and driving foundational market and competitive intelligence in support of key strategic company initiatives. This role will influence decision making across marketing, product, sales and support teams.
  • Process information science requests that come through established IS communication portals (ex. Footprints, website, GRP e-mail boxes), analyze requirements to determine correct escalation path, provide service response and fulfillment accordingly.
  • Assess business partner requests to determine complex information and data requirements, scope, and level of detail.
  • Collect and compile end user data to support monthly customer survey release activities.
  • Conduct research and analysis to create information packages customized to end user's needs.
  • Monitor market and competitive intelligence activities to provide strategic insights that enable decision making across senior management, product, marketing, sales, distribution and support.
  • Collect, research, analyze and triangulate information on various competitors, market trends and market data and determine significance, assess implications and provides analysis with recommended actions.
  • Perform research using company resources to create company profiles or other products/services to support strategic business objectives.
  • Communicate key learnings and insights regarding competitor’s strategies, financial results, targeted customers and markets and product performance to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain service fulfillment/service delivery health dashboards and metrics.
  • Complete understanding of analysis and simple visualization of datasets.
  • Apply industry standards to solve complex data visualization requests.

 

Qualifications:

  • Required – 3+ years of experience in business & competitive intelligence, market research, strategic planning and/or communications.
  • Ability to read, analyze and synthesize writings
  • Experience in data analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with searching online databases: ProQuest Dialog, STN, LexisNexis, Factiva, etc.
  • Experience in financial and analytical skills
  • Experience with Footprints and ILS platform Millennium
  • Resourceful in gathering market information from various proprietary and publicly available web resources and publications and industry experts
  • Strong copyright knowledge, in particular knowledge regarding use of copyrighted works in a corporate setting

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in business & competitive intelligence, market research, strategic planning and/or communications
