Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of company design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues in the repair and manufacturing testing of electronic circuits and electrical assemblies for the Electronics program.
  • Analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
  • Apply engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Identify documents, analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommend and manage resolution.
  • Develop and implement product/process improvements.
  • Ensure supplier, and build partner, compliance with company standards.
  • Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Review and evaluate functional/performance test data for electrical and electronics circuits and electrical assemblies against their acceptance criteria.
  • Troubleshoot electronics and electrical assemblies and identify defects to next subassembly.
  • Disposition defects for appropriate repairs and rework.
  • Collect and evaluate data on customer findings for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product support issues.
  • Participate in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Provide Engineering support for material review activities on electronic and electronic components by performing Engineering investigation of requirements traces, generating supplier statement of work documents for vendor repair, resolving technical issues at vendors, coordinating technical activities with multifunctional teams.
  • Lead the technical evaluation of vendors proposed plans by reviewing vendor acceptance test procedures for compliance to requirements and review of vendor rework findings to determine if failure has been verified.

 

Qualifications:

  • Able to use schematics, software descriptions, historical data, electronic and electrical device functional descriptions, technical manuals, automated test equipment, and standard lab equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
