Avionics/Electrical Subject Matter Expert (CH-47) (Secret clearance required)

Requirements:

  • 10 years’ experience as an Avionics/Electrical Technician
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) that field experience in avionics installation, modification, and electronic repair and maintenance. Provide expert advice and apply technical knowledge of systems integration principles in implementing technical solutions for integration into the CH-47F aircraft, in the areas of Command and Control (C2) hardware and Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) software implementation, to include Tactical Data Network Connectivity, Surveillance, Interrogator Friend or Foe (IFF), Improved Data Modem (IDM) and Blue Force Tracker II, Terrestrial RF centered Attenuation/Communications, Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) Satellite Communication (SATCOM), Production and development of Communications Security (COMSEC) material.
  • Ability to apply new developments, experimental theories, and experienced judgment for problem solving procedures and develop new approaches for the CH-47 Avionics weapons platform.
  • Provide advice and assistance to various elements of the Cargo Program Manager’s Office (PMO), DA components, and engage in the fielding of the CH-47F Army aircraft.
  • Develop, initiate and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to the Troubleshooting section of the IETM for CH-47D/F complying with (MIL-STD-40051-1).
  • Evaluate, plan, develop, and insure, the implementation of collective actions, and changes to reflect new requirements and safety concerns through teamwork level cooperation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Common Avionics Architecture System software.
  • Serves as a SME with knowledge on how to perform final and operational checks upon the completion of routine and non-routine maintenance.

 

Specialized Experience:

  • Aircraft avionics experience involving the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of installed avionics systems on aircraft.
  • Experience preparing and interpreting technical stipulations for contracts when requested.
  • Experience providing management and customers with expert technical guidance and advice in the development, implementation, and resolution of a wide range of aviation management issues related to safety, operational practices, potential contractor capability, contract modifications, and policy and procedure development.
  • The candidate must be familiar with publications review process, issues, analysis; providing technical assistance to address field readiness and maintenance issues; the air worthiness process; the candidate needs to be proficient with Microsoft Office suite and experience in supporting aviation maintenance and supply operations.
