Senior Oracle Developer (Secret clearance required)

Our client has an immediate opportunity as a Senior Oracle Developer located in Ft. Belvoir, VA! This position will support CISD, which provides cutting edge services focused on supporting the Civilian Human Resources Agency, Department of the Army. 

In this position you will:

  • Provide support for the enterprise relational database management system (RDBMS) architecture consisting exclusively of Oracle operating on RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Database operations and maintenance includes the customary duties expected of database administrators to maintain highly secure and available systems by adhering to IA guidance and implementing industry best practices in the areas of capacity planning, performance tuning and other areas as required. The team shall perform local and remote administration for development, test, production look-a-like, and production databases. Remote access and administration is accomplished with Government-furnished equipment, VPN accounts and CAC cards provisioned from Ft. Belvoir. The team will adhere to timelines based upon established project plans and be co-located with the CISD. Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is currently deployed. Experience in providing all relevant supporting documentation (i.e., network architecture diagram, Privacy Impact Assessment, accreditation artifact, interface agreement, code logic, TFM, etc.).
  • Design, develop and sustain large numbers of ETL processes including scripts that incorporate and address data quality, data sharing, performance, maintainability, and flexibility. The design of the ETL scripts shall minimize recovery time for failed executions by incorporating modularity and exception handling. Principal purposes are to refresh data in the CISD application portfolio and provide data to approximately 35 interface customers on a regular and recurring basis. For reference and depending on requirements, no more than 2-3 new interfaces are required to be developed during the contract period. They are typically not complex and are accomplished through DB links or file exchange.
  • Support CISD Data Governance initiatives by managing enterprise data assets, standardizing, modeling, and maintaining meta-data in accordance with established SOPs and best practices. Experience with ER/Studio to create and sustain as-is and to-be logical and physical data models, generate scripts, capture metadata, identify data duplication and perform impact assessments. Apply CISD Data Governance initiatives to all recommended data model changes to include improving data quality, reducing redundancy, and populating master data assets for the Enterprise.
  • Architect and sustain an Oracle enterprise database environment and incorporate Oracle best practices to effectively manage and utilize shared resources. Will be required to implement standardization and flexibility within allocated resources using latest technological concepts to include Real Application Clustering (RAC) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

Required Skills:

  • 10 years of related experience design, development, and sustainment of large numbers of ETL processes including scripts that incorporate and address data quality, data sharing, performance, maintainability, and flexibility.
  • Oracle Scheduler experience
  • Oracle Database design experience
  • PL/SQL experience


Education:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field (e.g., Information Technology, Information Science, etc) +10 years of related experience


Certification Requirements:

  • Security+ CE and Oracle certification
