About the firm: Our client is a $20 billion alternative asset manager and they are looking for a Fund Controller to work with the Deputy Head of Finance and other Fund Controllers to execute/define/document the department’s procedures.
?NAV Verification Process:
o Assist in the estimation of overhead and asset-based expenses.
o Maintain and manage in-house investor allocations (including review of subscription/transfer/redemption
o Maintain and manage data within our applicable internal systems and provide reliable information to other
groups within the organization.
o Perform bi-monthly reconciliations between our internal allocations and our third party administrators.
o Act as a strategic thought partner contributing develop and manage the highest quality controls and
processes to capture and deliver required financial information to all levels of BlueMountain and
regulators. Assist in ensuring that processes are sustainable, flexible and scalable.
o Assist in leading the coordination of processing financial statement comments or requests generated by
o Engage in accounting policy matters. Stay abreast of new accounting, control and finance policies and
developing perspectives on new ideas.
o Work closely with the Deputy Head of Finance and peers in drafting new financial statement disclosures.
o Review financial statement schedules prepared by the administrators.
o Produce weekly investor estimates.
o Assist our Investor Relations team in preparing DDQ responses.
o Aggregate information required for regulatory reporting (Form PF, PQR, BE filings, etc.) for our Legal
and Compliance department.
o Assist in the review of NAV transparency reports and portfolio region/industry destinations.
o Play pivotal role in the training and development of senior fund accountants on the team.
o Effectively coach and mentor employees on technical and soft skill development.
o Enthusiastically lead projects: Ability to manage, motivate, and deliver results on projects across multiple
disciplines that cut across various working groups.
?CPA and 6-10 years’ work experience.
?Preferred Background –Hedge Fund, Mutual Fund or Private Equity auditing experience.
?Focus on Details: Great attention to accuracy of numbers in financial reports. Must be very comfortable and adept at
spreadsheet based analysis and numbers based problem solving. Always striving for to most accurate and clear
presentation of data. Able to see how the individual’s part of the puzzle synthesizes into the greater whole of the team.
?Financial statement experience: Extensive knowledge of required US GAAP disclosures for investment companies.
Intimately understands the flow of financial statements and is able to identify errors efficiently. IFRS experience a
