At PriceSpider we are looking for a Sr IT Systems Engineer to join our team. Sr. IT Systems Engineers collaborate with IT and Applications Engineering staff to proactively solve problems and develop solutions within company infrastructure, while planning and upgrading the capacity, efficiency and reliability of technology resources. This role works as part of a talented team of systems administrators and systems engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency while continuously researching and studying alternative solutions and technologies to advance their own skills and the value of the services that they provide to the company. Operates on mission critical systems resources and ensures the highest levels of availability, performance and security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Solve complex technology problems, and help less experienced team members with escalations
• Prioritize tasks and projects, making decisions about day to day activities to best serve the company’s objectives and standards
• Coordinate and collaborate with other IT and Software Engineering team members on tasks and projects and to drive solutions
• Install, deploy, configure, test, monitor, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain systems resources and services for IT infrastructure built on Linux and Windows technologies
• Build, expand and support public cloud (Azure, Google, AWS) and Private Cloud (OpenStack)
• Find and solve server, network and performance issues
• Assist Software Engineering teams in troubleshooting and solving application tier issues
• Help drive maturation of IT services and resources to meet reliability, maintainability, agility, scalability, security and capacity requirements
• Implement security policies and procedures
• Expand and refine systems monitoring and response to meet SLAs
• Serve on a flexible rotating on-call support team for issues
• Visit 3rd-party data center as necessary to perform physical maintenance, installations and repairs on server and networking infrastructure
• Perform after-hours systems maintenance as necessary
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of issues, including in-depth technical analysis, troubleshooting and resolving root causes; engaging with appropriate SMEs as needed to drive incident and problem management

• Private Cloud Platform: Openstack, ProxMox, oVirt
• Infrastructure Automation: cloud API or Teraform/Ansible (1+ year)
• Disk Storage:SAN (3+ years), RAID (3+ years)
• Networking:TCP/IP (5+ years), Load Balancers (5+ years), IP addressing and routing
• Virtualization: KVM or Xen (3+)
• Containerization: Docker/LXC/Kubernetes (1+ years)
• Languages:Python (2+ years), Shell Script (5+ years), SQL Queries (2+ years)
• Education:High School Diploma and demonstrated continuous education through active participation in user groups, conferences, open source contribution and/or eLearning.
