Production TDs, Feature Animation (USA)

 Our US-based client is staffing up for upcoming animated features and is looking for experienced Production TDs (multiple openings) to help roll out its next-gen tools to texture, cloth and fur, effect, lighting, and rendering departments.

 It is an exciting time to join this studio and be a part of Phase 1 of their tech initiatives.

 They’re Great at:

 You’re Good at:

  • Working with Supervisors and Department Heads to design, develop, and implement the best possible technical and creative pipeline tools and processes to support artists and the production
  • Trouble-shooting assets and shots
  • Working in a proprietary pipeline and integrating third-party software like Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and/or Shotgun
  • Programming in C/C++, Python, and/or a strong grasp of OOP concepts and MVC frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to guide artists and peers through a variety of technical challenges

 Extra dash of Awesome:

  • Having a general curiosity and keenness to problem-solving
  • A love for working on computer science problems that are visual in nature

To land this gig, you need to have experience working at the feature film quality level and a passion for pushing the quality of an image.Ideally you are a programmer who has a keen interest in arts and filmmaking or a creative who’s comfort zone is straddling art and tech with coding chops. Tell us about the most impactful tool you built and how it was used or a strategic tech initiative you brought to fruition.

These are full-time roles and include benefits and relocation.

Lighting TD or Effects TD: This might be a great job for you especially if your interests have migrated more to workflow and tool development.
