Absolute Staffing is seeking to contract hire Dental Assistants to work with our client and join our dynamic team.

 

Job Description

The Dental Assistant will provide professional dental support services at a Pennsylvania correctional facility, assisting in the care and treatment of offenders. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM (7.5-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). No weekends, holidays, or overtime. This is an on-site role located within the Dental Office in the Medical Department. Telework is not available.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to the Dentist during procedures
• Chart findings as directed and ensure tools/materials are readily available
• Utilize retraction, suction, irrigation, and drying techniques during procedures
• Prepare workspaces, sterilize tools, mix cements and solutions
• Expose, process, and mount radiographs; evaluate diagnostic quality
• Take impressions for study models and athletic appliances; pour, trim, and assess casts
• Schedule appointments and maintain patient call lists
• Manage dental records and reports in compliance with applicable policies
• Prepare lab documentation, invoices, referrals, and prescriptions
• Educate patients on preventive and post-procedural care
• Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program
• Certified to take X-rays
• Must pass a background investigation conducted by the Department of Corrections (DOC) for work inside a security perimeter

 

Time off

• 40 hours of paid sick time
• Sick time is available after 90-day introductory period
• Unused sick time does not roll over to new year
