As a trusted subcontractor, we specialize in staff augmentation for IT, allied health, customer support, administrative roles, and more-serving private businesses and government entities at all levels.

We are currently seeking Student Aide’s to support our client in Baltimore, MD. These roles offer a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact in a student's daily school experience.

Position Summary

Student Aide’s provide one-on-one or two-on-one non-instructional support to students in public schools. The focus is on helping students stay safe, engaged, and on task throughout the school day. No teaching or tutoring is required-just a strong sense of responsibility and care for student well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or two-on-one support to assigned students during the school day (6-7 hours)
  • Assist students with transitions between classes, lunch, and other school activities
  • Supervise and ensure students stay on task and follow school expectations
  • Support classroom and school staff with non-instructional needs
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and confidential presence
  • Adhere to all school and program policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the appropriate and safe daily operation of the Childcare Center, including implementation of scheduled activities
  • Attend meetings/training as required by school
  • Advocate for the education and health needs of children and their families
  • Document and report signs of child abuse or neglect
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure provision of developmental services are received to support families
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records for each child per teachers’ direction
  • De-escalation strategies may be required to maintain a safe environment for both students and staff.

    Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or associate’s degree
  • Child Care certification preferred
  • Experience working with children ages 11-18 required
  • At least two years of relevant experience in childcare or youth support roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and all required clearances
  • Valid driver's license
  • Skilled in creating personal relationship with adolescents
  • Regular attendance
  • A commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families
  • Use of de-escalation techniques may be necessary to support student and staff safety.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting and transferring as needed
  • Noise level typically ranges from moderate to loud
  • Safely intervening during emotional outbursts or behavioral incidents
  • May involve physically redirecting or de-escalating a child in a non-harmful way
  • Assisting with writing, art, or sensory activities

    Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay Range: $18-$20/hour
  • Monday-Friday schedule; follows the school's calendar
  • Bi-weekly pay via direct deposit
  • Non-exempt; eligible for overtime, though not anticipated

     

    Health Insurance

  • Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Employer covers 70% of employee-only premium; employee covers 30% (deducted from payroll)
  • Employees may elect dependent coverage (100% employee-paid)
  • Coverage begins the first day of the month following date of employment or eligibility

    Time Off

  • PAID TIME OFF (vacation, personal, sick, etc.)
  • Standard PTO package: 80 hours/annual, 40 hours received Jan 1, 40 hours received Jul 1, and prorated based on hire date.
  • PTO cannot be used until completion of a 90-day introductory period.
  • PTO does NOT rollover to following year – “use or lose.”
