Absolute Staffing is seeking to contract hire Student Assistants to work with our client and join our dynamic team.
Position Summary
Student Assistants provide one-on-one support to students in public schools. This non-instructional role focuses on ensuring the assigned student remains engaged, safe, and supported throughout the school day. No teaching or tutoring is required—just a commitment to making a positive impact in a student’s daily routine.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to an assigned student throughout the school day (6-7 hours).
- Assist the student in transitioning between classes, lunch, and other activities.
- Offer supervision to ensure the student stays on task and follows school expectations.
- Support non-instructional needs as directed by teachers or school staff.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a supportive presence at all times.
Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).
- Preferred Experience: Experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus but not required.
- Skills: Patience, dependability, and strong communication skills.
Other Requirements: Ability to pass a background check, finger printing, etc.
Working Hours
- This is a non-exempt position, eligible for overtime if applicable; however, a need for overtime is not expected for this assignment.
- Monday-Friday, following the facility’s school calendar.
- $19 – $21/hr
- Non-exempt; OT Eligible, but no anticipated need
- Bi-weekly Pay Cycle
- Direct Deposit
