I. Description of Services

Absolute Staffing is seeking an experienced Business Analyst Level 3 with expertise in emerging technology, preferably with Oil and Gas systems experience to work with our client. The selected candidate will perform advanced business analysis work to support the Mainframe Transformation Program, including implementing SaaS, COTS applications, data migration, and Data Warehouse development.

This role requires independent judgment, initiative, and minimal supervision. The candidate must ensure deliverables are consistent with business analysis best practices, comply with established processes, and align with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct business analysis for complex IT projects, including software and hardware implementation.
  • Gather, document, and analyze requirements using multiple methodologies.
  • Review and assess business processes, provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and assist with implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless execution of project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with state policies and data governance standards.

All work products will be considered "works made for hire" and remain the property of the client. Candidates must pass a criminal background check as authorized by Texas law.

II. Candidate Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications may not be selected.

Required Skills & Experience in Years  

8+Business analysis experience in software development projects, including project documentation.

8+Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills; expertise in technical writing; proficiency with MS Office, Visio, SnagIt, Adobe Illustrator, or Axure.

8+Hands-on experience with requirements elicitation, client management, traceability, use cases, prototyping, and data modeling.

8+Skilled in facilitating interactive sessions with business and technical teams.

8+Experience assessing Production Support issues, identifying Root Causes, and recommending system corrections.

8+Ability to analyze business and functional requirements, assist clients in identifying problems, and propose solutions.

8+Strong experience in defining functional designs, system specifications, and preparing documentation.

8+Experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, and implementation activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with mainframe environments, SQL, Salesforce, Remedyforce, Java, J2EE, and relational databases.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead change and design efficient processes.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience and knowledge of compliance/enforcement projects.
  • Strong teamwork and conflict resolution skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.

III. Terms of Service

  • Start Date: May 1, 2025
  • End Date: August 31, 2025
  • Total Hours: Up to 628 hours
  • Service extensions depend on funding availability (determined in July/August 2025).

IV. Work Hours & Location

  • Normal Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (CST)
  • Location: Remote (Work from Home)
  • Travel: Pre-approved travel may be required (expenses follow Texas state employee rates)
  • Candidates may need to work weekends, evenings, and holidays based on project needs.

This is a contract position with the duration of 4 months.
