General Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology, the Junior Business Analyst is responsible for meeting with Business Analysts and clients to understand client business operations in order to write effective user and functional requirements. This is a consultative position that requires the ability to think innovatively, to provide and promote alternative solutions to better meet the clients’ needs, an ability to learn new environments and to adapt to change very quickly, a strong attention to detail, and superior communication and presentation skills.

Essential Job Functions

This is a hybrid position involving technical writing and business analyst activities.

  • Will translate user requirements into functional requirements. Will maintain appropriate versioning of updated documents.
  • Using Axure RP Pro, will update and maintain all client wireframes on SharePoint following documentation SOPs.
  • Works with technical staff to ensure technical reviews of documents are conducted properly and on time.
  • Plans and completes final production of documentation, including formatting, , and desktop publishing (as necessary)
  • Leverage strong verbal and written communication/interviewing skills to obtain information from other team members in person, over email, GoToMeeting, and phone
  • Build relationships with a wide range of people including software developers, project managers, and quality experts
  • Use experience installing and using software products to write user documentation
  • Work efficiently and independently (per work instructions and/or reference guidelines) with minimal supervision
  • Consistently deliver results according to project plans
  • Proficiently use word processing and authoring tools with a proven ability to learn various types of software quickly and apply this knowledge
  • Will work closely with, and provide support to, Business Analysts on client projects
  • Work to improve existing processes to improve quality or on-time delivery of projects
  • Work closely with all members of the team in a collaborative environment

Requirements/Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred 1-3 years’ experience working in a similar job capacity
  2. Good conflict resolution skills
  3. General knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  4. Ability to take thoughts and apply previous experience and ideas to implement solutions to client problems
  5. Have an investigative mind-ask the “why” questions
  6. Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data
  7. Strong influence-management, negotiation, leadership and assertiveness skills
  8. Strong presentation skills
  9. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  10. Experience in a technology firm; healthcare related experience a plus
