SUMMARY: The staff accountant will be responsible for performing accounting activities within a corporate organization supporting a variety of government contracts. The Staff Accountant position functions as a member of the Corporate team.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Payroll: This position serves as the primary point of contact for payroll processing to include:
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Enter and process AP vouchers and expense reports in Deltek CostPoint. Responsible for assisting with setting up Deltek Expense Report for new employees and adding/changing any setup issues. Reconcile credit card statement with vouchers and expense reports. Review and process expense reports to ensure compliance with JTR regulations, DCAA, monitoring corrections required, and timely processing of reimbursement to employees. Upload EFT payments to the bank weekly.
INVOICING: Will assist with monthly reporting, reconciliations and invoicing for government contracts.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE: Process all company deposits pursuant to company policies and procedures. Responsible for assisting with investigations on past due accounts.
The Staff Accountant will perform other accounting related duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to change duties as requirements dictate.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field and a minimum of five (5) years solid staff accounting experience. A minimum of three (3) years of staff accounting experience in the government contracting industry.
Experience with CBA, SCA, OHA, COLA, Danger and Hazard pay are all strongly desired.
SKILLS: Candidate will have demonstrated solid experience in Deltek Time and Expense and Deltek CostPoint 7 and familiarity with ADP or other payroll vendor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, walk and sit. May occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
