Provide support to the GBSD Propulsion group. Candidate should be highly qualified Propulsion Engineer with liquid propulsion design, modeling, test, and sustainment experience.
Responsibilities include some or all of the following:
Evaluate concept architectures and critical technology elements
Attitude control thruster design and operation experience
Long-term storable mono/bipropellant and solid gas generator experience
Use of systems engineering/model based system engineering (MBSE) for system architecture trades, system simulation, and detailed models to verify designs in advance of hardware builds
Perform technical reviews for all phases of design, qualification, integration, and system-level testing.
Perform propulsion performance analyses
Track requirements and verify propulsion system meets requirements
Report technical findings and provide recommendations to customer.
Ability to use/interpret results of analytical tools including CAD/CAM, FEA, MATLAB, etc.
Review propulsion systems designs, tests, and analysis
Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to maximize productivity
Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project life-cycle
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and 9+ years of related experience in liquid propulsion engineering
Commercial or DoD space launch systems with emphasis on satellite LEO-to-GEO, circularization, and station-keeping propulsion
Minimum 5 years launch vehicle integration experience
Active Secret Clearance
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Experience with the use of design drawings, interface control drawings and specifications
Experience representing and presenting to critical customers (Air Force, NASA, Navy, or contractors)
Department of Defense ICBM post boost propulsion experience
Top Secret Security Clearance
Master's Degree in Engineering or related field
