ACS is working to fill a permanent, full time position for a full charge bookkeeper. This individual will handle the full cycle of accounting duties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to payroll processing, coding and entering invoices, running checks, billing clients, and preparing bank deposits and will ensure the correct general ledger accounts are credited and debited accordingly. The full charge bookkeeper will handle all of the company's banking needs, including reconciliation of monthly bank statements, and will track disbursements from multiple sources to include grant funding, and cost accounting.



  • Conducts full-cycle accounting - apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information and prepare both external and management-based financial reports
  • Prepares all payroll cycles for approval and process net payroll and taxes after receiving approval
  • Forecasts accounts receivable, prepares invoices for approval, and sends invoices when approved
  • Receives, documents, and pays all accounts payable on time
  • Records transactions with correct class associations to provide recurring cost reporting
  • Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow.
  • Completes month and year-end close process- general journal entries, accruals, account analysis and reconciliation of accounts
  • Conducts internal audits, completes special projects for executives, and leads process improvement initiatives for department
  • Develops, documents, and updates internal financial policies and procedures as necessary to ensure efficiency and continuity of operations
  • Completes ad-hoc projects & reporting as assigned
  • Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy and provide guidance and analysis to executive and operational management to improve results

Experience (Required):

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Financial Analysis role
  • 3-5 year minimum experience with QuickBooks (Online Advanced version preferred)
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting
  • Ability to review data and make relevant management decisions
  • Strong financial system and business administration understanding


Education (Preferred):

  • Degree or Certification in Finance or Accounting


Knowledge and Skills (Required):


  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data
  • Knowledge of administrative processes such as word processing and file management
  • Must be customer focused; possess strong relationship building skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Must be able to effectively manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment


  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Attendance is required at work location Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
