Backend Developer

Technical Skills of the Backend Developer I:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of application and database components for new and existing systems
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to support application functionality
  • Participate in code reviews and testing activities to ensure quality and functionality
  • Work with senior developers to implement changes, modifications, and monitoring according to business requirements
  • Gain exposure to API development and integration (experience a plus, not required)
  • Support database and application troubleshooting under the guidance of senior team members
  • Learn and follow data privacy and protection guidelines
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and development strategies

Candidate Requirements of the Backend Developer I:

  • 0–3 years of professional experience in backend development
  • College degree and/or technical certifications preferred
    • Proficiency in C# and SQL or similar OOP languages required (e.g. C++, Java)
    • GitHub or code portfolio preferred but not required
    • Must be based in Houston; this is an in-office position
    • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn from senior team members
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively on a team and take direction
    • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
    • Strong analytical mindset with a desire to grow into more complex development projects
    • Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000 per year
