Sr. Systems Engineer – Yard Management System – Transportation and Logistics
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who brings innovation and energy to our yard management and finished vehicles logistics solutions development. If you are passionate about innovation, system design, software development, and working with amazing people, then please let us know.

Our technologies include JavaScript, React.js, jQuery, Ruby on Rails, Linux, PostgreSQL, GPS and location awareness, Digital Mapping, Apple Mac development workstations, cloud computing, Redis/Resque, JSON and other queueing systems to integrate our applications with customer systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities
• Work with customers to understand and document their operational environment and business needs
• Translate business needs to solution designs including workflows, integrations and hardware installations
• Evaluate technical solutions to new challenges along with Product Management and Engineering
• Work with Professional Services and Support team to communicate concepts to customers complex challenges
• Triage, debug and diagnose production and development integration issues
• Support product deployment, configuration, and testing
• Communicate pro-actively and listen carefully
• Work independently
• Commit to negotiated schedule
Experience Needed
• 3+ years working on solutions for the Transportation and Logistics Industry.
• 3+ years application or system design
• 3+ years working directly with customers
• 5+ years software development experience with emphasis on cloud-based application
• Excellent technical skills including strong understanding of networking technologies including managed messaging services, REST interfaces and Cybersecurity
• Familiarity with production UNIX/Linux systems and Internet technologies for service delivery
• Significant experience with SQL language
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science or related
• Excellent listening, verbal and written and presentation communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment by learning quickly, applying new knowledge effectively, and still maintain a disciplined approach to software development
• Ability to work both independently and with a team, with remote development teams (international)
• Passion for quality and continuous improvement
Preferred Experience
• Experience with Yard Management Systems
• Experience with Integrations with corporate systems; ERP, WMS, MES, TMS
• Experience with asset inventory systems and location technology and solutions
• Experience with passive RFID technologies
• Ability to generate ROI and prioritize work
• Good multitasking and communication skills
• Not complacent with the status quo
• Passionate about innovation and discovery
