Position Overview

We are seeking two experienced Mid-Level Attorneys to join our dynamic wage and hour employment law practice group. These positions are ideal for attorneys with 5-7 years of experience who are ready to take on increased responsibility in complex class action and collective action litigation. You will work closely with senior attorneys while developing your expertise in employment law and building your litigation skills.

About Our Firm

Our firm is a leading plaintiff-side employment law practice representing employees in class actions, collective actions, and individual wage and hour disputes nationwide. Our practice group includes approximately 15 attorneys handling complex cases across multiple jurisdictions. We maintain offices in California, Texas, and Illinois, with team members working remotely across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Case Management

  • Handle wage and hour claims including class actions and collective actions under FLSA and state wage laws
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and discovery documents
  • Take and defend depositions in federal and state courts
  • Make court appearances for hearings, conferences, and motion practice
  • Support and attend mediations and settlement conferences
  • Assist with case strategy development and implementation
  • Manage assigned cases with guidance from senior attorneys

Professional Development

  • Work under supervision of senior attorneys and partners
  • Participate in team meetings and case strategy discussions
  • Develop expertise in wage and hour law and class action procedures
  • Build relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Contribute to firm's knowledge base and best practices

Collaboration & Support

  • Work effectively with paralegals and support staff
  • Collaborate with other attorneys on complex matters
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff when appropriate
  • Support senior attorneys on high-stakes litigation matters

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of litigation experience with focus on employment law preferred
  • Class action and collective action experience in wage and hour claims
  • Strong court appearance experience including hearings and motion practice
  • Deposition experience both taking and defending depositions
  • Mediation experience supporting or attending settlement conferences
  • Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated ability to draft complex legal documents
  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FLSA and state wage and hour laws
  • Individual employment law experience (still valuable and teachable)
  • Multi-state litigation experience
  • Boutique firm background preferred
  • California bar admission (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with employment law research databases and tools

Writing samples should preferably include employment law briefs or motions, but high-quality litigation writing in other practice areas will be considered. We are particularly interested in seeing examples of your court filing experience and legal analysis capabilities.

  • Individual employment law experience is acceptable if combined with teachable attitude toward class action work
  • We value attorneys who can adapt between individual cases and class action matters
  • Strong candidates may be considered for our mass arbitration department depending on background
