A manufacturing company that has locations in Hudsonville, MI and Holland, MI is hiring for a 1st shift Steel Cell Support Operator. This is a 1st shift position from 7am-3pm and moderate weekly overtime should be expected.

Steel Cell Support Operator

Press Break, Tapping and Welding - $18 - $23 depending on experience – HOLLAND – 1st shift

Turns set screws or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
Adjusts specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies to thickness of metal, as indicated by calibrated scale or feelers.
Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates.
Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends or cuts metal.
Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations.
Verifies dimensions of workpiece.
Grinds laps or burrs from edges of workpiece.
Weld bolts to customer specifications by hand and by automated machine.
Read mechanical drawings to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Utilize scheduling data from Production Supervisor to maintain a smooth job flow throughout the steel cell department.
