Tool and Die Journeyman Duties

Performs all in-house die polishing and bench work
Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all tools. Keeps a thorough and accurate history on each tool
Performs mold cleaning, lubrication, and proper mold identification to the tooling standards
Maintains parting line, quality and surface polish
Maintains and tracks all mold components
Maintains inventory stock of tool room supplies and mold components
Works with scheduling and manufacturing on time tables of job completion for production startup time
Gives daily reports and work time log on all work performed
Performs electrical repairs on tools, such as wiring hot runners and repairing limit switches
Completes required hydraulic repairs on tools
Performs other tasks assigned by designated supervisor

Qualifications

Eight or more years of experience in the tool repair field or completion of an apprenticeship program preferred
Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and ability to read blue prints
Working knowledge of pneumatics
Understanding of trim presses and ring presses
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge and trouble shooting skills in plastic injection molding tools
Willingness to take a specific set course in plastics
Must be proficient in Tungsten Inert Gas (T.I.G.) Welding
Must have knowledge of tooling steels
Obtain hi-lo license and operate hi-lo safely and knowledge of operating a crane
