Practice Development Manager - Chicago

We are working with a great law firm that has an excellent employment opportunity for a Practice Development (PD) Manager in their Chicago office. The PD Manager is responsible for staying on top of present and emerging trends in specific client industries and managing client development programs for our Labor & Employment practice group and other areas as assigned by the Director of Marketing. Significant autonomy will be afforded candidates who demonstrate independent judgment, strategic and diplomatic thinking and the ability to function effectively on multiple levels.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assign tasks and projects to the Marketing department, ensuring staff members have the proper tools and training needed to carry out their duties, and provide ongoing guidance
  • Participate in reviewing and evaluating work product, method and procedures on an ongoing basis and assist the Director of Marketing in annual written evaluation
  • Perform the duties of the Marketing staff members in their absence or ensure their duties are covered by others
  • Approve time cards, ensure workload is distributed in advance of vacation schedules and other various administrative functions as necessary

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing required
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in a marketing/communications function within professional services required; law firm experience preferred
  • MS Word, Excel, InterAction, Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint proficiency required
