Associate – Class Action Practice Group – Los Angeles, CA
One of our national firms seeks an associate to work in their new Los Angeles office in the class action practice group. The associate will work primarily on class, collective, and representative actions challenging wage theft, misclassification, and workplace discrimination. The associate will play a very active role on cases, including working closely with clients and potential clients, investigating new cases, handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, writing and arguing motions, participating in negotiations and mediations, and representing workers in arbitrations.
Their class action practice aims to protect workers’ rights on a systemic basis and hold companies accountable for their obligations under federal and state employment laws. They have represented hundreds of thousands of workers, across all industries, including workers misclassified as independent contractors; tipped restaurant workers; women in the banking and tech industries in “glass ceiling” gender discrimination class actions; and job applicants denied opportunities because of criminal record discrimination. Through these cases and through our cutting-edge impact litigation, our goal is to advance economic and social justice while providing relief to our clients and class members.
Must have minimum of 1-3 years’ litigation experience, preferably in employment law. Applicants with judicial clerkship or equivalent experience preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, writing, research, and client management skills; and a commitment to protecting the rights of workers.
