Washington, DC - IP Assistant / Patent Secretary
The Washington, DC office is currently seeking an IP Assistant/Patent Secretary to work within a team in the Intellectual Property Law Departments and Chemical/BioPharma & Mechanical/Electrical practice areas. The primary responsibilities of the position includes, but is not limited to, managing attorney dockets and handling all administrative aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution. Additional responsibilities include reviewing, scanning and saving incoming mail (documents, e-mails and facsimiles) to Netdocs/Outlook, conflict checks, opening new matters, managing production of projects and monthly billing, making travel arrangements, and preparing reimbursements.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years IP experience with a strong background in IP prosecution and docket maintenance. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication, solid organization skills, a willingness to learn and be flexible with working overtime. Candidates must also be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and have the ability to prioritize incoming/outgoing tasks.
