Washington, DC - IP Patent and Trademark Coordinator
The DC office is currently recruiting for a Coordinator in the Intellectual Property Department. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Regional Patent and Trademark Manager, monitoring workflow and work assignments of DC paraprofessionals, while providing back-up coverage for absences. The Coordinator handles U.S., International, and Trademark filings as needed, performs research for attorneys and paraprofessionals regarding complex intellectual property issues, provides cross-training to paraprofessionals, provides guidance to paraprofessionals regarding best practices and firm policies, and mentors newly hired paraprofessionals. The Coordinator will also perform other duties and assist with cross office client responsibilities and special projects as assigned. This is a position with an annual 500 billable hour requirement.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Intellectual Property Prosecution with leadership experience and/or project management experience. A College degree and/or paralegal certificate, combined with extensive Intellectual Property experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge of patent procedural requirements at the USPTO, PCT and foreign patent practices required. Some Trademark experience preferred. All candidates must have excellent organizational skills, a superior attention to detail, the ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment, and work with a wide range of constituencies in a polite, professional manner. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, salary is flexible depending on the candidate (they told us to send over candidates with salary expectations)
