Director, eCommerce

We are seeking a motivated, organized and driven individual to fill the role of Director of E-Commerce. This role is responsible for developing and building the client’s eCommerce business to include Amazon, retail.com, and Direct to Consumer. This role will be responsible for leading a team, planning, directing, and executing the online product activities to meet sales and profitability objectives.

This role will be based out of the office located in Mahwah, NJ. Salary is commensurate with candidate’s experience and successes.

 Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and Direct eCommerce team. Create and maintain up-to-date eCommerce business plans (domestic and international) to achieve sales goals.

  • Develop a plan and launch Direct to Consumer site to include the website, the operations, and the logistics.

  • Follow-up with Amazon and Retail.com vendor managers to ensure product is moving and develop plans to stimulate growth. .

  • Launch new eCommerce accounts – Pure Plays - Wayfair, Houze, etc and/or retailer.com.

  • Support communication and execution of brand go-to-market strategies and tactics. Work with marketing on all promotional plans and routinely update the business on progress/success.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure product information is accurate and accessible.

  • Monitor consumer feedback and ranking of the products online and come up with strategies to improve them if needed.

  • Develop and execute SEO, SEM, Social media and consumer outreach plans to drive traffic.

  • Analyze weekly sales numbers, POS numbers, risks and forecasts. Conduct post event analysis of promotions and determine ROI.

  • Ensure orders are shipped accurately as well as stock levels and inventory reflect demand.

  • Coordinate with Logistics department to make sure shipments arrive on time.

  • Create replacement orders and ship replacement parts to consumers, as needed.

 Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Deep understanding of “How to Win” in the eCommerce environment (Amazon, Retail.com and DTC)

  • Demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking about improving business in a very complex and competitive marketplace

  • Knowledge of e-Commerce product flow and web store performance optimization

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to participate and contribute positively in work teams.

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to complete projects, document work and communicate clearly both in writing and verbally.

  • Team Work - Highly Skilled - Ability to lead and work in Teams

  • Motivation - High energy - Demonstrates high sense of urgency.

  • Project Management - Highly Skilled - Ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Solid analytical skills to effectively analyze results and develop strategies and solve problems

  • Proficient in account level e-Commerce tools (Google Analytics, Vendor Central, AMS, AMG etc.)

  • Strong listening and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point; Knowledge of Smart Sheet or Microsoft Project

  • Commitment to deadlines, accuracy and professionalism

  • 5+ years of experience in e-Commerce consumer products sales with past experience supporting Amazon.com

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related business discipline
