Director, Energy Portfolio

We are looking for a candidate with solid analytical, operational process management, quantitative and negotiation skills to help in the analysis, management and development of our retail electric customer portfolios.

Responsibilities:

The Energy Business Development & Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for the financial and operational management of the company’s energy customer portfolio to ensure operational efficiency and maximize the mutual financial benefit to the customer and the company.

  • Actively monitor the market for competitive landscape, rates, regulatory and other changes that will affect the company and our customers

  • Analyze, monitor and optimize the company’s residential and commercial portfolios to maximize value for the customer and the company

  • Proactively consult and negotiate with energy suppliers and partners to be aware of and provide the best service opportunities to our customers

  • Work with the company’s management team to find and evaluate additional options for the company’s portfolio of products and services

  • Negotiate pricing and other terms for individual customers and large blocks of customers with supplier partners

  • Maintain spreadsheet models that simulate wholesale market participant and/or end user bills, based on existing wholesale and retail tariffs

  • Expand the company’s supplier network and establish relationships with suppliers in all active markets

  • Manage supplier and product partner relationships and ensure communication flow, increased business potential and cross-selling opportunities

  • Direct the operations team in the selection and enrollment of customers individually and in blocks

  • Actively monitor all enrollments of customers with suppliers and manage daily quality control processes to ensure all accounts are enrolled accurately and current statuses with suppliers are accounted for

  • Manage relationships with all active utilities and various state regulators

  • Interface with our development team to suggest and spec out new platform features to help with managing and automating our portfolios and enrollments

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in wholesale or retail energy industry

  • Strong technical computer skills, including superior data analysis skills in Excel spreadsheet modeling and development and/or SQL modeling and analysis

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with ability to perform ad hoc research, quantification, and reporting

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly grasp, analyze, present, and convert data into actionable information

  • Ability to train and develop additional analysts and team members as we grow
