Mitigation Manager

Aldebaran Recruiting - Fishkill, NY, United States

Step into a leadership role where every day brings new challenges and real impact. We're looking for a seasoned Mitigation Manager to lead a dedicated team of first responders in the restoration industry—those who show up when disaster strikes. From fires and floods to mold and storm damage, you’ll take charge of managing emergency response efforts, estimating losses, and guiding projects from chaos to completion.

In this role, you won’t just be reacting—you’ll be building. You'll establish clear processes, lead with accountability, and set high standards across all key performance indicators. Whether you're scoping losses with Xactimate, coordinating crews, or collaborating with insurance pros and property owners, you'll be the linchpin between crisis and resolution.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and grow a high-performing mitigation team for water, fire, and mold recovery.

  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and execution to ensure top-tier service and profitability.

  • Create accurate estimates using industry-standard software (Xactimate, MICA, Moisture Mapper, etc.).

  • Manage relationships with insurance adjusters, property managers, and homeowners.

  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in leadership meetings, strategy sessions, and performance reviews.

  • Support hiring, training, and performance management of mitigation technicians.

  • Help develop marketing strategies and referral networks to keep the pipeline strong.

  • Attend site meetings, track milestones, and communicate payment updates to stakeholders.

What Sets You Apart:

  • 5+ years in insurance restoration or disaster recovery, with solid experience in estimating and managing large loss claims.

  • Skilled with residential, commercial, and multi-family properties.

  • Proficient in industry tools (Xactimate, Moisture Mapper, etc.) and insurance program portals.

  • Strong project management, scheduling, and budgeting skills.

  • Excellent communicator who thrives under pressure and leads with empathy and clarity.

  • A natural problem solver with a drive for quality, service, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating teams in dynamic environments.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience handling property restoration claims ranging from $500k to $1M.

  • Deep construction knowledge with a background in general contracting or emergency services.

  • Ability to coach, develop, and motivate field teams.

  • Track record of building strong relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals.

  • Passion for helping people rebuild and recover—one project at a time.
