Mitigation Manager

We are seeking a Mitigation Manager to build a solid team of first responders, implementing processes and standard works so all are held accountable under the same Key Indicators. Manager will also be expected to inspect, estimate and project manage water/fire/mold mitigation and projects. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working with insurance adjusters, agents, property managers and property owners. Most projects consist of structures that have been partially or fully damaged by fire, water, wind, and other such disasters. In this position, you will be scoping residential and commercial losses and estimating the mitigation process primarily using (Xactimate, moisture mapper or other industry software systems.) Insurance industry work of 5+ years minimum is required.


  • Run mitigation department with core values as a guide.

  • Provide estimating for assigned insurance claims, assign PM to manage job to completion aiming to meet or exceed company profit margin.

  • Assist DM in writing of Mitigation estimates using XA, MICA, Moisture Mapper or other industry estimating software and carrier best practices.

  • Interfaces with program dashboards to monitor update and track existing claims

  • Participate in regular scheduled company meetings as needed

  • Participate in regular meetings with Division Manager & support staff to review project performance (annually, semi-annually, quarterly, monthly) TBD

  • Provide detailed feedback to DM to assist in setting Sales and Margin Goals (annually, semi-annually, quarterly, monthly) TBD

  • Provide detailed feedback to DM to assist in developing a financial strategy that:

    • Includes a division operating budget,

    • Explores options to increase profits, and

    • Ensures profitable and stable growth in division sales.

  • Provide detailed feedback to DM to assist in regular development, implement and maintenance of division marketing plan including web site content, business relationships with insurance adjusters and referral programs, that

    • Seeks opportunities for growth and

    • Creates a constant, visible presence in the target market area to produce a continuous flow of quality leads

  • Recommend ideas for the innovation, implementation, and improvement of marketing and sales operations that are consistent with the company's Strategic Objective.

  • Research and provide information for competitor analysis.

  • Develop, maintain, communicate and execute company procedures

  • Identify and make hiring recommendations to DM

  • Assist DM to evaluate employee performance and administer disciplinary actions consistent with company policy when applicable

  • Respond to homeowner/mitigation tech questions concerning job specifics

  • Produce additional work orders to assist supers and client

  • Attend site meetings, manage client expectations, and notify the office manager when client payments are due.

Interested candidates should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management/disaster restoration & general construction with Xactimate estimating software experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of emergency and restoration claims (scoping, sketching, estimating, coordination of resources, communication with insured and adjuster, etc).

  • Ensure the estimated timelines are met for individual insurance program requirements.

  • Interface with insurance program portal/dashboards.

  • Educate the client on the process of repair, the timing of service delivery and realistic expectations.

  • Prepare accurate job costing and estimation, ensuring target margins are met.

  • Establish job schedules and time lines specific to each job.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to insurance stakeholders, homeowners, and property managers.

  • Provide leadership in health and safety, by ensuring the company health and safety policies and procedures are followed.

  • Communicate with adjusters, architects, engineers and other necessary construction professionals as necessary to complete repairs

  • Create project schedule for repair claims

  • Coordinate subcontractors, inhouse manpower, materials, and outside efforts to complete claim repair assignments, per procedures.

  • Complete and coordinate close out procedure for field/paperwork of all claim repair jobs.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' related insurance restoration industry experience with exposure to writing large losses in the $500k to $1m range

  • Sound construction knowledge and/or building background required; 3+ years

  • Experience with subcontractors and working with outside vendors

  • Experience handling multi-family, residential and some commercial losses

  • Experience with adjusters and writing estimates in Xactimate

  • Pass background screening check
