THE OPPORTUNITY

This newly created leadership position offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction and performance of business development across the firm. Working closely with senior leadership, the individual will help shape and implement strategies that support growth and expansion at scale.

The AVP will focus on centralizing and formalizing business development initiatives while building on the momentum already underway in regional teams. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a mix of visionary thinking and operational execution.

INITIAL PRIORITIES

  • CRM Platform Rollout: Support the launch and optimization of a new CRM and marketing system (currently in deployment), helping to standardize contact engagement practices across teams.

  • Market Research Implementation: Utilize findings from a national nonprofit market scan to identify strategic opportunities and drive outreach plans.

  • Industry-Focused Growth Strategies: Expand on initiatives designed to grow presence in specific nonprofit subsectors.

  • Client Engagement Model: Launch a coordinated stewardship strategy to deepen relationships and enhance long-term impact.

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with firm executives to shape the organization’s overarching growth agenda.

  • Design and lead firm-wide go-to-market strategies tailored to specific regions and sectors.

  • Integrate business development with marketing and field strategies to align messaging and outreach.

  • Build and lead internal training programs to elevate the business development function across teams.

  • Define key performance indicators, track initiative impact, and adjust tactics accordingly.

  • Maintain awareness of sector and market shifts to ensure relevance and competitive advantage.

  • Recommend and manage change initiatives to continually improve internal systems and external impact.

IDEAL PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (advanced degree a plus)

  • 5–7+ years of professional experience, preferably with exposure to sales, marketing, or strategic growth in a consulting or nonprofit environment

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans in partnership with senior leaders

  • Skilled communicator who can engage stakeholders across departments

  • Experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot is desirable

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to build and scale new initiatives
