Responsibilities

  • Persona & Key Messaging Development - identify key audience segments for specific messaging strategies, assist in interview clients and customers to capture information for persona development.
  • Content Strategy Development - align messaging with personas and buying journey to attract, convert, and retain customers for client accounts.
  • Content Writing - execute content strategy across various channels, leveraging client brand voice, including blogs, whitepapers, emails, social media posts, video scripts, website copy, search ads, display ads, and others.
  • Competitor & Industry Research - develop competitor profiles to aid in content strategy development, compile industry competitor profiles for use in message development.
  • Market Research - profile consumer and prospect behaviors and attitudes within various markets to layer on detailed personas.
  • Keyword Research – identify opportunities for clients to leverage new topic clusters to optimize existing content and uncover potential rank-impacting strategies.
  • Content Planning – Collaborate with Account Managers on ongoing calendar for content development in coordination with SEO strategy and objectives. Plan, oversee and document all aspects of deliverable development, working closely with account team and creative teams as needed to ensure the scope and direction of each project is properly aligned.
  • Teamwork – Communicate regularly with account team and management on project development, timelines, and results.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on content strategy and perform various duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing or similar field.
  • 4+ years of content writing experience, preferably for an agency; 2 years experience content strategy development.
  • Expertise in writing for websites, landing pages, long-form content, social channels, advertising, video, email, and print.
  • Exceptional ability to write in different voices and personalities – ranging from less formal, witty and compelling content for social media, blogs and email to more formal, data-driven language for thought leadership and research reports.
  • Understanding of best practices of search engine optimization, SEO.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience writing for inbound marketing methodology.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Marketo or similar marketing automation platform.
