We are seeking a proven VP Sales with deep experience in contract manufacturing / EMS sales to supercharge our revenue growth. This is a critical hire to help us move beyond primarily inbound, regional business and expand nationally.
You’ll take the lead in driving outbound new business development, cultivating relationships, and securing larger volume, long-cycle contracts.
This role is ideal for a strategic, self-driven closer who knows how to navigate the complexities of EMS sales, build trust with decision-makers, and deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Identify, pursue, and close new customer opportunities in contract manufacturing and EMS, with focus on medical, defense, cloud/AI, and industrial markets.
- Outbound Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a proactive outbound sales strategy to expand reach beyond its current regional footprint.
- Pipeline & Relationship Building: Manage a pipeline of long-cycle opportunities (12–24 months); build and maintain C-level and procurement relationships with target accounts.
- Revenue Growth: Drive $1M–$2M in new purchase orders annually (with ramp-up flexibility in year one).
- Collaboration & Handoff: Partner closely with account management team to ensure smooth handoff post-PO while staying engaged to support account growth.
- Market Insight: Monitor industry trends (reshoring, anti-China manufacturing trends, etc.) to identify opportunities and stay competitive.
- Sales Process & Reporting: Track opportunities, forecasts, and progress against KPIs; provide regular updates to leadership.
Qualifications
- Proven EMS/CM Sales Experience: Must have direct experience selling contract manufacturing services (PCB assembly, system build, EMS solutions).
- Track Record of Closing: Demonstrated success in securing new customer contracts in the $500K–$2M+ range.
- Industry Network: Existing relationships in medical device, military/defense, cloud/AI, or industrial controls strongly preferred.
- Sales Expertise: Skilled in managing long sales cycles (12–24 months) and navigating complex buying processes.
- Strategic Hunter: Thrives in outbound business development; comfortable identifying opportunities, building relationships, and driving deals to close.
- Communication & Collaboration: Clear, direct communicator who values teamwork, customer service, and results.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, while integrating closely with leadership and account teams.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary ($100K–$125K depending on experience).
