JOB TITLE: Corporate Controller
Reports To: CFO
Class: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing various financial aspects within the business, including corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control policies. This role requires independence and will report directly to the CFO.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the accounting department, overseeing month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and providing insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with finance, operations, and sales leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.
Post and process journal entries, record financial transactions, and identify and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Collaborate with external accountants, legal counsel, and lenders.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years of proven experience as a Financial Controller or Assistant Controller.
· Worked in organizations with gross annual revenues exceeding $100M
· Public Accounting /Audit experience preferred
· Bachelor's degree in accounting. Advanced degree in accounting preferred (MBA/CPA).
· Proficiency in accounting software and general ledger functions.
· Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP a plus.
· Experience within the trucking/logistics industry is highly preferred.

Physical Demands:
This position is primarily sedentary and will require extended periods of sitting. It may also require occasional standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may engage in bending, stretching, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Regular use of office equipment and computers is required, and the employee must be able to see, talk, and hear.
Working Conditions:
This role is based primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels and temperatures. Interruptions may occur from time to time.
