Director of Credit
Aligned Solutions is looking for a Director of Credit for a well respected company. The Director of Credit is a key leadership position within the finance team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of credit and collections operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in credit management, a solid understanding of lien laws, and a proven ability to drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Director will lead process improvements, build a high-performing team, and collaborate cross-functionally to support business growth while managing financial risk.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop the credit team—including direct and indirect reports—across Account Onboarding, Collections, and National Accounts.
Manage the end-to-end credit process, including credit approvals, customer onboarding, collections, and resolution of receivables and credits.
Develop and implement strategies to reduce aged receivables and outstanding customer credits, with a focus on risk mitigation and process improvement.
Establish, enforce, and continuously refine credit policies, procedures, and best practices.
Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to align credit strategies with overall business objectives.
Maintain a strong presence in day-to-day operations, serving as both a strategic leader and operational contributor.
Ensure compliance with lien laws and stay current with relevant regulatory developments.
Drive the adoption and effective use of credit and collections technology platforms.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive credit and collections leadership experience, ideally within the distribution, construction, or related industries.
Proven track record of hands-on leadership with the ability to build, inspire, and restructure teams for optimal performance.
Strong working knowledge of lien laws and their commercial applications.
Experience with credit and collections platforms (e.g., Versapay or similar systems) is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., NACM, CCE) preferred.
