International corporation seeks Senior Tax Analyst to join their team. The Senior Tax Analyst plays a crucial role in the company’s tax function, focusing on compliance, tax planning, and reporting. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing various tax returns, conducting research on tax laws, and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations. The Senior Tax Analyst will work closely with the finance and accounting teams to support tax audits, implement tax strategies, and provide guidance on tax implications for business operations.
This position requires a strong understanding of tax principles and laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities: **
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales/use, property, and other indirect taxes.
- Ensure timely filing and payment of all tax obligations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities and manage risks.
- Perform tax research and stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing the impact on the company.
- Support tax planning initiatives for both domestic and international operations.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and ASC 740.
- Coordinate and support tax audits, including preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and working with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and efficient tax reporting and compliance.
- Analyze financial data to assess tax implications and identify potential opportunities for tax savings.
- Assist in maintaining the company’s tax records, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tax strategies, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Assist in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and international tax compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to junior tax team members and assist with their development.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- 4+ years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting, with strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems
- Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 740 tax accounting principles.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
