A growing company in the manufacturing and retail space is seeking a senior financial Reporting Accountant. They are offering a hybrid schedule for this position, with three days working in the office and two days working at home.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Company’s external financial reporting process, including preparing external financial statements and disclosures as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) such as Form 10-Q’s, Form 10-K’s, and Form 8-K’s.
- Assist in the year-end financial audit process with external auditors.
- Aid in SOX compliance and coordinate the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
- Create accurate workpapers supporting filings with the SEC.
- Review the XBRL taxonomy for the Company’s Form 10-Q and 10-K.
- Ensure adherence to accounting and reporting deadlines.
- Stay updated on new accounting and regulatory developments and evaluate their potential impact on the Company's financial statements, including items from the FASB, SEC, and PCAOB.
- Assist with month-end close and other operational accounting processes like lease, share-based compensation, and debt accounting by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and creating related schedules.
- Collaborate with company departments and external partners.
- Identify areas for process improvement to enhance the efficiency of SEC and financial reporting processes.
- Assist with ad-hoc activities, special projects, and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or relevant corporate accounting experience preferred).
- CPA or Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with consistent follow-through on tasks.
- Experience with financial accounting systems, with knowledge of Intacct being helpful.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office is required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a startup mindset and openness to change.
- Ability to work independently in an organized manner.
- Willingness to drive and embrace process improvements and efficiencies.
