Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $117,312 - $158,371.20 Annually

Summary:
The Director of Provider Compensation is responsible for managing the provider compensation process for employed physicians. This role acts as a liaison with Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and other support services to develop and implement employment agreements and contracts. The Director will focus on developing and managing a system-wide employed physician compensation model, utilizing market-specific data and ensuring compliance with legal and human resource policies.

The Director will work with nationally reported compensation surveys and collaborate with Finance and senior leadership to develop, monitor, and maintain physician compensation models that balance productivity, quality, and satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness standards. This position will document all compensation plans, procedures, and maintain a current compensation philosophy statement.

The Director will also participate in physician compensation committees and report to senior leadership and the Physician Governance Council as needed. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and reporting any concerns to the Chief Medical Officer, Physician Compensation Oversight Committee, or Compliance Officer as necessary.

The Director will conduct an annual review and adjustment of the employed provider pay structure to ensure it meets FMV standards and will act as a liaison with external valuators to support FMV analyses. Additionally, this role will stay updated on industry developments in provider compensation to ensure compliance with regulations and support provider recruitment and retention.

Requirements:

  • Education: BA or BS in Business, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university required; MBA or MHA preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Physician Compensation Leader, Consultant, or a combination of both required.

  • Skills:

    • Exposure to compliance, negotiations, auditing, and physician finance.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.

    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to adapt to change and work within the organization’s values, mission, and vision.

    • Ability to provide responsive customer service and feedback in a timely manner.
