Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports to: Association Accounting Manager

Summary

Aligned Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for a well respected company. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly financial statements for Homeowner and Condominium Associations. Core responsibilities include developing comprehensive financial reports, performing bank reconciliations, conducting account and variance analyses, and preparing all supporting balance sheet schedules.

This role requires outstanding customer service skills and collaboration across departments and with external clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and professional, with a strong background in financial accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and produce accurate monthly financial statements, including:

    • Balance Sheet and Income Statement with variance analysis

    • Monthly bank reconciliations

    • Prepaid expense and insurance schedules

    • Accrued expense schedule

    • Other relevant supporting schedules

  • Review and analyze all subsidiary ledgers for accuracy

  • Prepare monthly and year-end journal entries in collaboration with CPAs

  • Accurately manage a high volume of complex accounts

  • Collaborate with property managers, board members, and auditors to resolve financial inquiries and support audit processes

  • Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and reporting improvements as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Accounting or Finance (required)

  • Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience, or a combination of education and experience

  • Industry experience with HOA and/or condominium association accounting is preferred

  • Experience in full-cycle financial statement preparation is essential

  • Familiarity with accounting software, Adobe Reader/Writer is a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks, particularly during closing periods

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Competence in financial data analysis and variance reporting

  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a seated position for extended periods

  • Capability to lift up to 5 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer

  • Ability to travel within the state as needed

  • Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when required

  • Ability to respond promptly to emergencies or urgent tasks
