BWP is seeking an individual with substantial utility rate setting experience to serve as Utility Rates Manager. This individual will thoroughly understand utility operations and will be adept at complex financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and risk assessment. The incumbent will be a skilled problem solver, relationship builder, and decision maker who is keenly familiar with all applicable local, state, and federal legislation and regulations, including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission standards. Finally, this person will have superior oral and written communication skills, solid leadership experience, and the proven ability to identify and implement improvements.
The ideal candidate will have an intense desire to maximize BWP’s AMI water and electric meter information as an asset to fully integrate rate design as a key component to ensure BWP remains a leader in cost effectively integrating renewable energy (60% by 2030) in a reliable fashion why keeping competitive rates. One key responsibility would be designing and introducing city wide residential time of day rates and modernizing the commercial time of day rates BWP currently offers. The candidate will directly assist with developing conservation and demand side programs through rate design which supports BWP’s efforts to keep total costs low for our customers.
Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance as determined by the City. Example combination includes, but is not limited to a Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, mathematics, energy and resources studies, or a closely related field; AND four years of energy or utility sector experience.
Salary: $122,638 - $161,269 per year, DOQ, plus an excellent benefits package.
