The Community Safety Department works to enhance quality of life through public safety programs, neighborhood livability, and emergency preparedness. Within this department, the Neighborhood & Business Safety (Code Enforcement) Division oversees a wide scope of responsibilities, including code enforcement, business licensing and permitting, cannabis business compliance, and animal care and control. With a FY 2025-26 budget of $3.8 million, the Division plays a vital role in maintaining West Hollywood’s unique character, thriving economy, and community safety.

The City seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as its next Neighborhood & Business Safety (Code Enforcement) Manager. Reporting to the Director of Community Safety, this position will lead a dedicated team in administering high-profile programs that support livability, public safety, and business vitality.

The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in municipal code enforcement or related fields, including at least five years of management. A bachelor’s degree in public administration, criminal justice, planning, emergency management, or a closely related field is required; a master’s degree is desirable. Relevant certifications such as CA POST PC 832, CA Association of Code Enforcement Officers, and ICC inspector credentials are also expected within one year of hire.

The annual salary range is $183,669 – $241,733, plus a competitive benefits package that includes City-paid health, dental, and vision insurance; CalPERS retirement; generous leave programs; City contributions to retirement savings plans; tuition reimbursement; a 9/80 work schedule; and more.
