The Recreation and Community Services Department is a unique special district within the City and provides diverse recreational activities for all ages. Programs include youth and adult sports, preschool-age programs, senior programs, day camps, leisure and enrichment classes, cultural activities, aquatics, and special events. The Department operates 20 parks, a community center, senior center, and partnerships with local schools. Mackay Park, a new three-acre park, opened in 2017 and planning is underway for a new nine-acre park anticipated to debut in 2020. The Department has 13 full-time positions and an operating budget of $4.9 million.

Requires a combination of education and experience such as a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree desired) and five years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience in administration.
