Located north of San Francisco, just over the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Municipal Water District (Marin Water) delivers water to approximately 186,000 residents in a 147-square-mile area of south and central Marin County. Marin Water serves ten incorporated cities and towns, including San Rafael, Mill Valley, Fairfax, San Anselmo, Ross, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Tiburon, Belvedere, Sausalito, and unincorporated portions of Marin County. The District owns and protects over 20,000 acres of watershed that drain into its seven reservoirs located on Mt. Tamalpais and in west Marin.
Marin Water employs 240 full-time employees and is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, each of whom is elected to represent one of five geographic areas. The Board establishes policy on the district’s mission, goals, and operations. The fiscal 2022-2023 budget includes an operating budget of $92.2 million and a capital budget of $23.9 million.
The Information Technology Manager reports directly to the Engineering Director with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the information technology system services. Over the last few years, the Marin Municipal Water District has made significant IT accomplishments and now looks forward to completing its next slate of projects. The District seeks a dynamic, experienced and well-rounded information technology manager to lead a relatively new team into the next era. The ideal candidate will be an experienced supervisor who fosters an environment of cross training and teamwork. This person will have a customer service approach and ensure that open communication flows to the other departments. He/She will be comfortable with public speaking and as well as getting out of the office.
Requires graduation from a four-year accredited college with a degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field; and, five years of information systems work experience, or an acceptable combination of education and directly-related information systems experience. Experience working with unionized groups is a plus.
Salary: up to $207,000 DOQ + benefits.
