Back River Search Group

Software Engineer - React

Back River Search - Portland, OR

Company:

Our client is becoming the leader in automated conversations for large healthcare systems amid an explosion in chatbot activity. To be the chatbot leader in healthcare, however, requires a special skillset. Based in the great city of Portland, Oregon, they already have a great team that has created the technical foundation for this growth, and now they are ready to go and take it to the next level.

They are looking to add thoughtful problem solvers with people skills to their engineering team. The team is small, nimble, highly skilled and collaborative. They are working to deliver better healthcare outcomes for their growing populations, while reducing costs. They practice code-based prototyping, test development, and pull request code reviews (ticket tracking, acceptance testing, etc.) to produce high-quality code and improve our products.

As they shift their front end development towards React, they are looking to add thoughtful engineers to the team who can help with that transition.

Applicants should have:

  • Professional experience with React
  • A willingness to adopt our development practices - We use a light style of agile, review pull requests, and write test code
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Docker and AWS deployments are important but can be taught

Our client values team members from all disciplines and backgrounds who:

  • Can self-manage; when given a goal, can focus and create
  • Care about clients and patients, not just the code
  • Willing to keep learning new tools and languages
  • Care about doing good work; likes to improve practices
  • Able communicator; willing to help teammates make informed choices
  • Able to work constructively in a group

Joining the Conversation:

If you're a hard-working, curious, thoughtful person who wants to create great software products, consider working with our client! All positions are currently in their Portland, Oregon office.
