My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading automation projects, implementing LEAN methodologies to define project scopes, mapping processes, mentoring junior engineers, delivering efficient automation solutions, constructing payback models, and providing vital assistance in writing capital requests. The successful candidate will be a skilled problem solver with a strong understanding of automation technologies and process improvement techniques.
Responsibilities:
Lead Automation Projects: Take charge of planning, executing, and overseeing automation projects from conception to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and develop innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Implement LEAN Methodologies: Apply LEAN principles and methodologies to identify waste, optimize processes, and define clear project scopes. Work towards achieving streamlined and cost-effective automation solutions.
Process Mapping: Analyze existing processes and workflows, and create detailed process maps to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Use process mapping to guide the development of automation solutions.
Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide guidance and support to junior automation engineers, helping them develop their skills, and assisting them in overcoming technical challenges.
Deliver Automation Solutions: Design, develop, test, and implement automation solutions, ensuring that they meet the specified requirements and contribute to increased productivity and quality.
Payback Models: Construct detailed payback models to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of proposed automation projects and assist in decision-making processes.
Assist in Capital Requests: Collaborate with the finance and management teams to prepare and present capital requests for automation projects, including cost estimates, ROI analysis, and project timelines.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of leading successful automation projects.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of automation tools, robotic process automation (RPA), industrial control systems, and PLC programming.
LEAN Knowledge: Experience applying LEAN principles and methodologies to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.
Process Mapping: Proven expertise in process mapping techniques and process optimization.
Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify areas for automation.
Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present proposals, and mentor junior engineers.
Team Player: A collaborative and adaptable team player, capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in automation and process improvement.
