NSIDE SALES SUPPORT - LONG ISLAND

The Inside Sales Support position is responsible with assisting the dedicated outside sales person(s) with all aspects of project quoting and ensuring departmental goals are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review electrical specifications and prepares quotations
  • Acquires and continuously develops product and technical knowledge to assist customer with proper selection and use of products.
  • Seeks assistance /guidance or decision-making from management when needed.
  • Cooperates with vendors, manufacturers and co-workers to maintain positive work environment.
  • Requires daily use of internal email/and other communication systems to keep current in job knowledge, with changes in company business policies or practices, and to ensure timely received of information to resolve customer problems or to provide internal/external follow-up.
  • Provide support to the outside sales staff as requested:
  • Contact outside vendors for price quotes.
  • Secures multiple 3rd party vendor quotes for each project (3 minimum)
  • Assembles price quotes and sends to our customers.
  • Provide any additional support as it presents itself.
  • Handles phone-in customers with pleasant telephone etiquette and courtesy.
  • Acquires and continuously develops product and technical knowledge to assist customer with proper selection and use of products.
  • Provides customer with verbal/or written quotation, estimate, terms, and delivery method.
  • Secures sales order or follows up with customer as necessary to obtain order.
  • Follows Company purchasing procedures.
  • Handles difficult situations with diplomacy & treats customers/and others with respect at all times.
  • Cooperates with vendors, manufacturers and co-workers to maintain positive work environment.
  • Requires daily use of internal email/and other communication systems to keep current in job knowledge, with changes in company business policies or practices, and to ensure timely received of information to resolve customer problems or to provide internal/external follow-up.
  • Performs Follow up on previous quotes.
  • Attend required sales meetings and training, as requested by manager, company or vendors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Communications skills necessary to effectively interact with customers including electrical contractors, architects, engineers, outside sales reps and manufacturers
  • Experience in Power Generation Sales is preferred
  • Must work well under pressure and as a team
  • Strong understanding of how to read architectural and electrical drawings
  • Basic Electrical and Mechanical knowledge preferred
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills are a must
  • An intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred
  • Must be able to multi task
  • Strong PC skills
  • A BS/BA is desired but not mandatory
