Business Development Representative - Off-Highway

We are recruiting a Business Development Representative for the nation's leading provider of premium engine repair components, specializing in Original Equipment fuel systems, turbochargers, and after-treatment parts and installation kits for on-road, off-road, and marine engines.

This role will be responsible for developing new business opportunities for distribution accounts within the Off-Highway Business Segment by initiating and expanding relationships with strategically important customers for the company's fuel shops, service dealer networks and service centers. This position is responsible for achieving sales and direct margin goals, and account objectives in line with the overall Company Strategic Initiatives.

*Expect frequent travel (50+%).

Key Departmental Responsibilities

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including Technical Support, Warranty, Marketing, and Customer Service resources to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Actively pursue new accounts to expand the off-highway customer base -oil and gas, ag and construction, mining and industrial segments.
  • Focus on development of key existing accounts across areas of responsibility
  • Requires skills in communicating with high level Purchasing and Procurement Professionals across all market segments within the company's portfolio of parts.
  • Proactively leads the account planning and forecasting process to develop performance objectives, milestones for one, three, and five-year periods.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs.
  • Leads solution development efforts to address customer needs, working cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Attend meetings, sales events, and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments in the industry.
  • Report and provide feedback to the sales and marketing team using statistical data.
  • Utilize the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System to store and retrieve customer data.
  • Operate in conformance with the requirements of the quality management system.
  • Maintains records and reports expenses monthly according to Company policy
  • Assist other employees in and out of the department.
  • Provide feedback on system changes/needs.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Sales expertise, product knowledge, and the ability to positively manage customer and vendor relationships is required.
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft software including Excel, Outlook, and CRM modules.
  • Time management and organization are essential to this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all employees to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
