Bemana is searching for a remote Accounting Manager to join a company who is a specialized wine and spirits importer, exporter, broker, producer, and distributor headquartered in Lake Charles, LA. The company operates in the alcoholic beverage industry with a strong focus on premium wines and spirits across domestic and international markets.

Position Offers:

• Up to $80k base salary + performance-based bonus of up to 25%. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.

• Retirement: After 12 months of service, the company contributes 3% of compensation, regardless of employee contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and assist with all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Perform reconciliations of accounts, inventory, AR, and AP and maintain proper balances.
• Ensure all financial information is accurate, current, and properly documented.
• Review bills and invoices to verify costs and prices are consistent with contracted rates.
• Conduct regular audits of financial documents and processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinate with external accountants during the annual financial close.
• Prepare internal financial statements for management review.
• Evaluate existing accounting systems and processes, recommending improvements and efficiencies.
• Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Support implementation of new accounting technologies (EDIs, APIs, ERPs, etc.).

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Excel
• Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, and ability to communicate results clearly while recommending process improvements.
• Work Experience: Prior experience working remotely is a plus.
