Our client is a national energy solutions firm specializing in Mission Critical Infrastructure, Energy Efficiency, and EV Charging Infrastructure. Led by a team with nearly 30 years of experience, the company develops energy strategies that help organizations power what matters, reduce energy waste, and electrify operations through customized, results-driven strategies. As the company continues to scale, they are seeking an experienced General Counsel to serve as a strategic legal partner to the executive team and support their growing project portfolio.

Position Overview

The General Counsel will lead all legal functions for company, with a strong focus on contracts and risk management within the power construction and energy infrastructure space. This role will provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance across construction contracts, project development, compliance, corporate governance, and dispute management.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting power construction, EPC, or energy services organizations and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary of $200,000-300,000, flexible for candidates with exceptional experience
• 3 weeks PTO
• 11 paid holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership and business stakeholders
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts, including EPC agreements, MSAs, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and joint ventures
• Provide legal oversight for power construction projects, including risk allocation, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution
• Advise on regulatory, compliance, and permitting matters related to energy and power infrastructure
• Support corporate governance, entity management, and board-related matters
• Manage outside counsel and legal spend as needed
• Develop and implement internal contract standards, policies, and risk mitigation processes
• Partner closely with operations, project management, finance, and procurement teams to support project execution

 Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing
• License to practice law in the state of GA
• Proven experience negotiating and managing contracts in the power construction, energy infrastructure, or EPC environment
• Strong background in construction law, commercial contracts, and risk management
• Experience supporting complex, multi-million-dollar projects
• Ability to balance legal risk with practical business objectives
• In-house counsel experience within an energy, power construction, or infrastructure company
• Familiarity with utility-scale projects, renewable energy, or transmission and distribution work
• Experience with claims, disputes, and alternative dispute resolution in construction settings
