A multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering and construction firm is currently seeking a talented a Construction Monitor (Roofing/Waterproofing) in their Honolulu, HI office.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 1-3 years of inspection and construction observation/monitoring experience working as a monitor/observer, inspector.
• Experience providing monitoring inspection services for multi-family residential, institutional and commercial construction projects
• Familiarity or expertise in roofing, waterproofing, stucco, siding, windows, sealants and other building envelope areas
• Ability to observe construction activities, verify compliance with contract documents, plans and specifications and identify installation defects
• Ability to produce and maintain daily reports and records of construction activities
• ICC or RRO certification a plus
• Willing to learn the State of Hawaii construction standards
• 2 to 4 year college level education; a degree in architecture, civil engineering or a similar field a plus
• Excellent oral/written communication and analytical skills
• Self-starter with ability to accept responsibility for projects and see them through to completion
• Ability to work as individual contributor and contribute as part of a larger project team; must be team oriented and able to work in a culture that encourages professional growth and innovation
• Willingness and desire to learn and apply new concepts to assignments and projects
• Good computer skills are a must -- MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook
• Must be able to make extended trips, including field visits to construction sites; travel may be required
• Must have outstanding client service
• Comfortable with heights
• Must hold a current driver's license and have reliable transportation
