A multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering and construction firm is currently seeking a Window & Air Barrier Testing Lead for their Bay Area office to support the work in Building Envelope testing. The Lead will be involved with management and oversight of technical work.

Responsibilities

• Undertake field review of both new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm that the construction of the building envelope assemblies is proceeding in accordance with approved mock-ups and design documents
• Prepare site visit reports to generate Action Lists of outstanding deficiencies and track their resolution
• Periodic site observations and field testing
• Represent Firm at client external meetings
• Interface with architects, general contractors, and sub-trades.
• Undertake assessments of existing buildings and the preparation of building envelope assessment reports

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Science preferably with a background in Building Science
• Minimum 5 year of related work experience, including performing leak testing
• Excellent technical skills and knowledge of standard practices, current literature and recent developments in engineering
• Excellent knowledge of Rain Screen principles, Air Barriers and Thermal Performance
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and effectively prioritize
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Professional attitude towards management and interpersonal communication
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is desirable.
