IT Technician

Blue Recruits Limited - IRINGA, DSM, Tanzania

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an IT Technician to oversee the Information Technology infrastructure, offering remote or onsite support, managing security measures, updating software systems, and document procedures, and fostering collaboration among teams. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the seamless operation and security of our systems across multiple departments within the organization.

Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree In Information Technology, Computer Science,

Experience: 1 – 3 years of Proven Experience As An IT Technician Or Similar Role.

Location: Iringa, Tanzania

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond promptly to IT support calls, aiming to resolve issues on the first call either over the phone or through remote assistance.
  • Manage all incoming IT support emails, directing them to the appropriate support queue and escalating requests to relevant departments when necessary.
  • Ensure timely responses to support requests from each department.
  • Administer LANs, WANs, internet/intranet networks, including troubleshooting network connectivity, ping, telnet, and managing software applications installed on the local network.
  • Maintain, set up, and implement servers such as DC, Exchange server, DNS, and DHCP, including managing Active Directory users and groups, permissions, security policies, file and print servers.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Outlook accounts.
  • Manage antivirus and antispam software.
  • Provide technical support and advice on network optimization, manage network infrastructure, and backup procedures.
  • Serve as a technical resource for systems and users, offering recommendations for network optimization and improvements.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and monitor all remote servers and internal infrastructure equipment.
  • Take responsibility for infrastructure design for new branches, including design and structured cabling.

 

AUTHORITY

  • Implement security protocols, including password management, data encryption, access control, and firewall configurations to safeguard systems and data.
  • Establish backup and recovery procedures, ensuring regular data backups, storage, and recovery processes to mitigate the risk of data loss.
  • Maintain network configuration standards, including guidelines for network design, IP addressing, VLAN configurations, and routing protocols to uphold network reliability and performance.
  • Enforce hardware maintenance guidelines, conducting regular inspections, cleaning, and troubleshooting to uphold hardware integrity.
  • Manage user access policies, adhering to rules for granting, revoking, and managing user access to IT resources, including account provisioning, permissions, and authentications.
  • Adhere to workplace safety instructions, using proper protection against injuries, diseases, fire, and hazards, and promptly reporting all incidents or accidents.
  • Foster open lines of communication with all employees and the management team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree In Information Technology, Computer Science, Or A Related Field (Preferred).
  • Proven Experience As An It Technician Or Similar Role.
  • Proficiency In Lans, Wans, Internet/Intranet Networks, And Network Troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience With Server Administration (Dc, Exchange Server, Dns, Dhcp).
  • Strong Knowledge Of Microsoft Outlook, Antivirus, And Antispam Software.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills And Attention To Detail.
  • Effective Communication And Interpersonal Abilities.
  • Ability To Work Both Independently And Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced Environment.
