General Manager

On behalf of our client, we are in need of a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our tour and travel operations. This includes but is not limited to managing staff, developing and implementing strategic plans, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining financial health, and fostering a positive work environment.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the tour and travel industry, with a proven track record of success.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of daily operations, including tour planning, logistics, sales, marketing, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Cultivate relationships with suppliers, partners, and clients to enhance business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Implement and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and safety throughout all aspects of operations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the tour and travel industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of tour and travel operations, including logistics, sales, marketing, and customer service.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute plans to drive business growth.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Passion for travel and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
